I don't have any photos to post for this one... Our dear friends Zac & Traci (you can see a link to their blog on the right - Holm Family) took our children so that my husband and I could have a much needed night away. To be quite honest, with him having been deployed so much over the past couple of years, I'm pretty sure that our last night away was about two and a half years ago. So what do two 30-somethings do when they have free time... the local amusement park of course!
We spent the entire day riding rides and getting a bit soaked. We were going on one of the water rides, which Bill likes much less than I do, and he asked me "Why am I doing this?". My very quick response was, "Because you love me and I love these rides". Good one - right?
That evening we spent, in fresh dry clothes, at an Embassy Suites. We enjoyed their free cocktail hour and then had a wonderful dinner at their restaurant.
We woke up Sunday morning and met our friends at church. Man, it is so great to see your children when you've been apart from them for even such a short period of time. I get excited when they wake up in the morning because I've missed them (I know - totally addicted to my kids). But after a whole day/night, it was wonderful to be with them again.
We are so thankful for the Holm's and the time that they allowed us together. We are also so thankful for each other and quite honestly, a new marriage that we are building. After so much separation and the trials and tribulation that come with that, this is a new marriage (with five years and three children...).

We are so blessed with you guys as friends and also are blessed that are children are also friends, it's so much fun to spend time with your family and every time we hang out with you, Zac and I always say that we can't wait until the next time we get to hang out with you. I love that! We were so happy to take your children for a night so that you and Bill could get some much needed time together, it was our pleasure and we would definitely do it again! Love you all very much!
