Officially closer to 40...

Today, I turned 36! At a Mary Kay meeting last weekend, one of the directors was telling her "I-story". Part of it was this line, "The first thing that I thought when that phone rang (three months later) was that nothing had changed." That line certainly means more when you hear the entire story. However, that is the line that is motivating me to shake up my world a bit! When I turn 37 next year, I don't want to be in a position to say that.

My 35th year of life has been full of highs and lows, very high and pretty low. I do expect that the roller coaster of life will continue with highs, lows, twists and turns. That is part of what makes it great! I have really big plans for this next year of my life!!!

In my 36th year, I will reach directorship in Mary Kay. In my 36th year, I will take care of my body (even if that means less Chocolate Peanut Butter Revel ice cream from the Kemp's store and more time at the gym). In the next month of my 36th year, I will walk 60 miles in hopes to be part of the cure for breast cancer. In my 36th year, I will spend more time in prayer and in His word becoming the woman that He needs me to be.

I also want to share with you how wonderfully the first morning of my 36th year began! My husband went to Caribou to pick up my favorite coffee drink - caramel high rise. Then he and our children made me a wonderful breakfast - London insisted that I have a waffle since she can make those on her own in the toaster. Thank you Eggo! Then I was showered with gifts and homemade cards, also a couple of other cards. One of them included a sticker that I will wear after we are done swimming. The second sang me "How sweet it is to be loved by you...". My gifts... From my children: P.S. I Love You, a PINK mouse (you know - the Microsoft kind), and SWEDISH FISH!!! From my husband: a beautiful diamond cross necklace. Now we are off for a day of swimming...
