Today, my sweet baby girl is 12 years old. Sydney, you are so much more than I could have ever dreamed that God would give me for a daughter. You are kind, caring, and incredibly sensitive. My prayer for you as you come closer to the teen years is that you will focus on who God created you to be and not worry too much about what other people think of you. You have such a great heart. And I don't want to see it broken!
I'm so proud of who you are becoming! I love to watch you get excited to care for other people's children. I love the enthusiasm that you have at church and what a heart for God you have! I'm excited to see what He does in your life this summer as you venture on your first mission's trip. Even though you won't be very far from home, you will be changing lives! That's so powerful! And I'm so thankful that you are brave enough to serve in that way.
Thank you for teaching me so much about myself. I'm learning more about who I am by watching you. Let's face it kiddo, we are two peas in a pod! There is no other person on this Earth who is as similar to me as you. Even now, as I'm almost so teary that I can't read what I'm typing, I think of how we are so emotionally connected. I know at times, that causes us to disagree and argue. But as we both get older (no joking about your mom's age), I truly believe that it will bring us closer.
You are a gift from God. I'm thankful that He chose me as your mother! Your dad and I couldn't have been prouder than we were the minute that you were born. You gave us a little scare with your "no breathing" trick. And you showed us what we were made of with your colic. But we made it through it! And if it weren't for that colic, I would have never left my very glamorous job as a Payless store manager to stay home with you!!! Funny how God uses tribulation for what He wants to teach us.
I just want you to know how very much we all (all four of your parents) love you! Thank you for everything that you bring to our family. Thank you for your sense of humor! I love you my little bubba!

Mom. You made me cry like a little baby again!! Thank you so much! I love you from the bottom of my heart. When you said that you were crying and couldn't read what you were typing I was thinking, Me too!! We have so much relating! I love you so much! I was looking at my baby-11 year old pictures in my dad's wallet last night and was comparing me (baby) to me (11)! It was so weaird! I agree, I have changed a lot!! I also do love kids!
Sorry I just remembered that I was going to say that I was a chubby baby!
