One last summer trip...

Our family took one more camping trip. This time we ventured to Jellystone with Yogi and Boo-Boo. Of course when we told our kids that we were going to see Yogi Bear, they said "who?". By the end of the weekend, they had learned to love Yogi as much as we do.

Jellystone has campsites all over. We chose to go to Sioux Falls, SD. It was wonderful! They had activities for the kids, a great pool, nice sites, clean bathrooms and most importantly, excellent customer service! It was just a great, family vacation. Maybe "roughing it" isn't for us. But camping at sites like this, certainly is!

Bill left for DC earlier this morning. It is growing more difficult for London to say good-bye. She is beginning to understand more of what it means to miss someone. Last week we were at a baseball game with the women and families that are on my 3-Day Breast Cancer team. Our captain made an announcement that Bill was leaving. On the way home, London was very upset because Sue said that Daddy was leaving his family. Who knew that she would catch on to something so small??? No us! We had not even thought to sit down with her and tell her what was going on. She has certainly changed over the last few months! Sydney was very sad tonight as well. Then we have our precious little Jacob... He also was sad to see Daddy leave. But tonight when he was on the phone with his mom he said, "I'm still happy because I have Mommy and my sisters". I was very thankful for that bit of joy in his voice!

Last night, Bill and I were treated to a lovely evening out. A local radio station, sent him a gift certificate to a phenomenal restaurant in downtown Minneapolis, McCormick and Schmick. It is one of the classiest places I've ever eaten. To our surprise, there were a dozen roses and a bottle of wine waiting for us at our table. They were from my co-workers! They were so incredibly thoughtful. It was just a wonderful surprise!

Whew... I'm exceptionally long-winded tonight! Bill is safe and sound in Ohio for the evening and will complete his drive to DC tomorrow. Our prayers are with him in his travels. Our prayer for our family is just the Lord's strength, wisdom and patience to persevere through this next year!
