The Harper-Anderson's Go Camping

We decided to try a new adventure this year... camping!!! We purchased a tent (a really big one) and all of the necessary supplies. Everyone was pretty surprised that this is something we chose to do. In the words of my sister Beth, "I thought Misty liked to camp at the Holiday Inn". Actually, Bill and I are more like Embassy Suites kind of people - free drinks and breakfast. But we wanted to be able to get away from the television and cell phones. We really just wanted to enjoy some time away with our children.

We took the family hiking along the St. Croix. They had fun exploring and wondering what kind of animals might be in the woods.

This is a picture of the kids with the campfire that MOMMY started! Daddy tried for a little while. But it took some real woman-power to get this campfire started! I think this is something that my dad taught me to do. We had fun making smores and starting the marshmellows on fire.

Later that evening, we were visited by several police officers. There was a very large domestic dispute in the neighboring campsite. It ended with them being evicted from the campground. It took them from 11:30 pm to 5:30 am to pack up there stuff and get out. Yikes! Better luck next time!

All in all, we are very happy that we went and are looking forward to our next adventure in South Dakota! Yogi Bear here we come...
