My sister Beth graduated from high school on Saturday. 19 years after I graduated from that same school. Yep - I'm a bit older than she is! My mom (step-mom technically speaking) was moving me to college and had a really bad case of heartburn from our Hardees lunch. Turns out, that "heartburn" was my sister! I really am so proud of her. She was the Salutatorian of her class, has multiple college scholarships to the University of Mary, including an athletic scholarship for cheerleading there next year. I never thought that I would see the day that a Hanretty would get an athletic scholarship. I guess the next one will probably come from Andrew (my nephew).
A few people over the years have asked if she's my daughter. Nope, but am very blessed to call her my sister!
Beth is a great example and role model for my children!
We also found a little time to play at the park in Towner. Oh, I just love this place! There is nothing fancy about it. It's just regular play equipment. But it holds so many memories for me. It is where we had our Kindergarten picnic and had to "sweep" the clouds away. And it was where I had almost all of my birthday parties as a kid. I have an August birthday so it was perfect! It was where I was scolded for not being thankful enough for my birthday gifts and will remember that for the rest of my life!

We let Sydney bring a friend with this trip. She loves to hang out with her Auntie Beth. But graduating seniors are pretty busy young adults. So, Kiley tagged along for the ride. They had such fun together. The drove my parents' golf cart for quite a while. It's good practice until they can drive real vehicles. They must have done ok - no crashes or injuries!
We all had a great time! Bill was extremely to my parents in the food preparation department. If you know my husband at all, you know that he loves the grill! It turns out, so does my dad! AND, it turns out that my dad has 90 lbs of pork ribs to BBQ for the grad party.
We had so much fun this time that we decided to do it all again in July for the All-School Reunion!
